Early Life and Education:
Brendan Coyle was born on 2 December 1963 in Corby, UK to an Irish father and Scottish mother. Brendan's father was a butcher, from whom Brendan learned butchering skills and gave a thought to become a chef.
Brendan trained at drama school in Dublin, founded in the late 1960s as the Focus Theatre, which was co-founded by his mother’s relative. Brendan started there in 1981 and then received a scholarship to Mountview Theatre School in England in 1983.
Brendan holds Irish citizenship and has previously lived in Dublin and London, so he also has UK nationality. His beloved mother, Delia, is still alive while his father died when he was still young.
51 years old Brendan Coyle is still single and in search of his true love. Although he has been in many relationships; short or long, he wasn’t really compelled to get married. “I'm single, I'm looking for something meaningful.” Talking about the qualities he is looking for he says, “The qualities I am looking for in Miss Right are intelligence and humour.” Also he says he would love to have children when he gets married.
Now the guy is ready to get married and any woman would be lucky to have him as her husband. “…Through my 30s into my 40s, I’ve gone from one long-term relationship to another, so I’ve spent the last few years taking stock. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing, but only now am I truly ready for a relationship.’
Initially Brendan Coyle worked as a butcher in his father’s shop, but then he realized that it isn’t for him. “I took a gamble in becoming an actor and my dream job has been realized,” he says.
Brendan shared his ambition with his mother only, who encouraged him, telling him about a relative in Dublin who ran a theatre. ‘About a year after my dad’s death, I got the courage to write to her,’ he says. ‘That was one of the most important calls I’ve ever made in my life. She invited me to come to Dublin to give it a go…”
Since then Brendan has done a number of stage, television, and movie productions, winning an Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance and many more nominations. Brendan progressed steadily in his career, from foot soldier in fringe theatre to the West End, then Broadway, and ultimately film and television. He continues to work on stage, in film and on television.
Brendan Coyle has been placed on the No. 1 spot on People with Money’s top 10 highest-paid actors for 2015 with an estimated net worth of $58 million.
