Gary Valentine

Gary Valentine is a famous actor, comedian and writer, born on November 22nd in 1961 as Garold Joseph Knipfing. He’s been in the entertainment for over twenty years and is best known for the role of Cousin Danny on the CBS sitcom ‘The King of Queens’.

Gary’s birthplace is Mineola, New York, so he is an American national, but is of German descent. His family was well situated, with the father owning an insurance agency and the mother working in a chiropractor’s office. He has a brother Kevin George Knipfing, an actor that goes by the stage name Kevin James, and a sister named Leslie Knipfing.

The actor first appeared in the standup comedy stage of the Montreal Comedy Festival, where he got a lot of attention and received a lot of job opportunities, which is why he soon moved to the West coast, specifically Los Angeles. After moving, he was quickly spotted in numerous talk shows, such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Late Late show with Craig Kilborn. Valentine performed many comedy tours across USA and has been a frequent guest in numerous shows related to entertainment. He has been the headlining comedian in clubs and in theatres for the last fifteen years.

His movie debut came in 2001, when he tried his hand as a stunner in a short film Velocity Rules, but Valentine also acted in movies like Jack and Jill, Stuck on You, Hosed and many more. Gary’s latest movie release is Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, in which his brother Kevin James has the lead. Interestingly, Valentine also had a small role in the first part of the movie which was made six years ago.

The mildly overweight actor also appeared on TV multiple times. His most famous role is definitely the recurring major role in a show called The King of Queens. Valentine played the role of Danny Heffernan, the cousin of the main character Doug, and he appeared in 81 episodes from 1997 until 2007, during which he impressed the audience with his acting. It is memorable to mention that he has contributed to the writing of four show episodes, during 1999 and 2000. Four years after finishing with The King of Queens (2011), he appeared in an episode of Men of a Certain Age, and during last year he played in five episodes of Fargo, portraying Deputy Knudsen.

In 2011, Gary filed a lawsuit against a woman who falsely accused him of sexual assault. His former business associate performed ‘mutually consensual oral sex’ on Valentine after a business meeting and then went on to her boyfriend and the police claiming she was assaulted, claimed the actor. Valentine also said that the police proved the claims to be groundless, so he sued the woman for $500,000 for damaging his reputation and causing severe emotional distress.

Besides this, Gary manages to maintain his private life low profile. He married his wife Jackyline in 1993 and they are still together despite the fact that some rumors during his career claimed that he is gay.
