Sage Steel worked in WSBT-TV for two years and then shifted to WISH-TV, where she majorly covered NCAA men’s final. As a morning sports anchor at CBS, Steel was responsible for covering high school and college sports. Between the years 1998 to 2001, Steel got attached with ABC as a sports reporter, where she worked with Jay Crawford and Scott Hanson. Over the years Sage Steel covered a number of teams working with Fox sports Florida, as a reporter her domain was to cover all the major teams of Florida State. SportsNite was one of the programs that provided Sage Steel a chance to be an anchor. For almost six years Sage Steel worked with CSN Mid Atlantic as a leading anchor. The ESPN SportsCenter chapter started in March 2007; Sage Steel also served in daytime live SportsCenter editions.

With an athletic background, Sage Steel was born in 1972 to an African father and an Irish mother. Sage Steel spends her early childhood days in Belgium and Greece. At the age of eleven, Sage Steel moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Her father was a source of inspiration for her because her father was the first player African-American player to play football in 1960’s. After completing her senior school in the year 1991, Sage Steel gradually developed her interest in sports. Having a bachelor’s degree in sports communication from Indiana University in the year 1995 is an indication that how much Sage Steel developed her interest in the field of sports.

Sage Steel is the only daughter of Grey Steel and Mona with two brothers. Sage Steel married Jonathan Bailey in the year 1999 and they have a son and two daughters, Nicholas Bailey, Quinn Bailey and Evan Bailey.

From 2007 onward Sage Steel indulged herself in different sports majorly covering the updates about the players and the games. After having a debut, ESPN provided Sage Steel a platform on which she discussed about the latest activities in Cricket, Rugby and football.

Sage Steel is one of the highest paid television sports anchors and the current worth of Sage Steel is about $ 1.5 million. Sage Steel achieved the level of expertise due to the commitment and the hard work that she has done. Sage Steel has always been a dedicated sports anchor that is focused on the outcomes.

NBA Countdown is now hosted by Sage Steel and her co-host Doris Burke; Sage Steel has a privilege of working with the main specialized athletic pregame show on Friday and Sunday editions. Former players and the head coaches share the platform of "NBA Countdown” with Sage Steele as Sage Steele is one of the finest and gifted anchors of the sports history.

Sage Steel also competed a number of other events as well; Steel was invited to host Scripps National Spelling Bee championship every year. Since 2010 Sage Steel is continuously hosting the event.
