Shannon Spake is a 39 years old reporter that works for the ESPN network. She was born on the 23rd of July back in 1976. She is famous for her career in sports correspondence and she used to be a correspondent for NASCAR. She has contributed to the SportsCenter newscast by giving a lot of reports before and after the games.
Shannon is currently working as a college football as well as basketball reporter for the ESPN network. She is also a sideline reporter for the SEC on ESPN games of basketball and she also does reports on college football games. Most recently, from 2014 she works for the SEC Network which is a rather new network owned and created by ESPN. It’s undeniable that she has countless appearances on the most popular and high rated sports network.
Prior to joining the most popular sports network on the world, Spake used to work at the Speed Channel where she occupied the position of a co-host of NASCAR Nation. This wash in the second version of the newscast starting in June and ending in November back in the year 2005. She was also a reporter for the first version of the same cast from February to June during the same Year.
Shannon also used to co host a racing talk show called Back Seat Drivers. For the period between 2007 and 2014, Shannon was a pit reporter in the NASCAR series for the ESPN network and she did reports for the shows NASCAR Countdown and NASCAR Now. Her career took off quite significantly in 2008 when she became a full-time reporter from the pit for the casts of Nationwide and Sprint Cup races which were televised and aired on the network of ESPN. It’s safe to say that she has a broad audience.
Career prior to journalism
Before she started to work as a full time reporter, she used to work for the Nickelodeon program on CBS appearing on The Early Show alongside Bryant Gumbel. She was also in the MTV network working as a production assistant.
When speaking about her early years, Shannon grew up in the city of Florida. She managed to graduate the Piper High School and later attended the Florida Atlantic University where she got her bachelor’s degree. Back in 199 she also did an internship in the radio based in Miami, hosted by famous Neil Rogers. She has a Facebook profile where she tends to share a lot of details regarding her work and as well as her personal life. Shannon is a versatile journalist capable of delivering top quality reports for the shows that she is working for.
As far as her personal life goes, back on the 14th of April in 2008 she married her husband Jerry McSorley. Unfortunately they got divorced a couple of years later on the 7th of September in 2010. Shannon also got pregnant expecting a baby, but the couple was pleasantly surprised when she gave birth to two beautiful twins. Their names are Brady and Liam and they were born on the 1st of January in 2010.
